The Wohl Academic Complex

The Wohl Academic Complex, inaugurated in December 2014, is the first building on the new Legacy Heritage Center for Medical Education campus to open its doors to students, lecturers and the public at large. It is the home of the College library (1,270 square meters, or 13,665 square feet), an auditorium for scholarly and cultural events, and a student support center.

The Wohl Academic Complex is named in honor of its benefactor, the Maurice &Vivienne Wohl Philanthropic Foundation of London. The vision was designed by the architect Vivi Astrinsky and the execution was supervised by Yaakov Shitrit and the Rashi Foundation.

The Library
In an elaborate operation, more than 60,000 books and 100,000 electronic sources were transported from the previous library to the new state of the art library at the Wohl Academic Complex. The library, one of the first of its kind in Israel, is based on a new approach for academic studies. More than 100,000 electronic sources were updated, in the computerized library, rooms for individual and small group study were designed, along with a relaxation area overlooking the beautiful view of the Galilee outside.
