Biographical Info: I earned my B.A. in nursing and my MPH (Master of Public Health) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I completed my PhD in 2015 at the University of South Carolina in the United States. In my dissertation, I investigated the effects of multiple forms of ethnic discrimination on smoking outcomes among Arab men in Israel. Between 2016 and 2018, I completed a post-doctoral fellowship in tobacco regulatory science at the Center for Regulatory Research on Tobacco Communications at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.    

Research: Broadly, my research addresses the social determinants of health, including ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in tobacco use and other health outcomes. In recent years, my research focus has been on understanding patterns of tobacco use as well as tobacco product marketing and advertising influences on vulnerable populations such as youth, ethnic minorities, and socioeconomically disadvantaged groups.
