Israel at War- Zefat Academic College Emergency Campaign

Dear Friends,

The State of Israel has been at war since Saturday, October 7th, following the ruthless attack by Hamas terrorists in southern Israel. Like everyone, we are devastated by the brutality. It is entirely possible that the conflict will spread to the North – Hezbollah is making aggressive threats and firing rockets across the border towards communities and IDF positions. Across Israel, the overhead aerial activity is relentless.

Like every Israeli organization, Zefat Academic College is profoundly affected by the war. Many staff members and students have been called up for reserve duty in the IDF, in the Security Forces (such as the police and Shin Bet) or essential civilian service (such as hospitals). The College is making every effort to maintain communication with our students and staff and support them in any way possible while we plan for a potential start of the academic year November 5, contingent on the security situation.

The College is providing physical and academic resources to support the national effort and local communities. The Department of Social Work, working with the City of Zefat, has established an information center and a "hotline", providing critical practical and emotional support to College and community members. Student dormitories in Zefat have also been made available to IDF soldiers stationed in the area.

An emergency fund has been established to assist students who are experiencing significant financial hardship because of the war. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference to individuals and their families.
