The Department of Development & External Relations

Our mission is to bring Zefat Academic College to the attention of donors as an academic center of added value and uniqueness, located in the socio-economic and geographic periphery of the State of Israel. The College consists of a multi-cultural student body at the bottom of Israel's socio-economic ladder and prepares it for the demands of the modern labor market, with an emphasis on medical professions.

The department is responsible for bringing donors, partners, organizations, corporation, foundations and federations to identify the College as an engine of social and economic change in the social and geographic periphery of the State of Israel, a college that offers educational excellence to a multicultural student body. These donors and partners will fulfill their commitment to the College by taking supportive steps to strengthen the College, develop its infrastructure and expand its academic programs.

Dr. Amnon Leshem

Vice President of Development & External Affairs

Born and raised in Jerusalem to a Canadian born father and an Israeli born mother, Dr. Leshem completed his military service with the rank of Captain in the Armored Corps. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a Master's degree from Freiburg University, Germany, and a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in history from the University of Chicago. Dr. Leshem held teaching positions at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University. In addition, he worked in a variety of high-level educational, marketing and managerial positions in a number of institutions in the United States, including Northwestern University, Temple University, the University of Southern California and Central Florida College.

After 21 years in the United States, Dr. Leshem returned to Israel and moved to the Upper Galilee to join Tel-Hai College as its Vice President of Recourse Development and External Affairs. Prior to joining Zefat Academic College, in May 2018, Dr. Leshem served as the Executive Director of the Haifa Foundation, a public, non-profit charitable organization serving Israel's third largest city.

Zohar Tzur

Development Coordinator

Born and raised in the western galilee.

L.L.B from University of Haifa. Before joining the Zefat Academic College, she interned at Orna Lin & Co., a boutique law firm in Tel-Aviv specializes in the legal field of labor law. After finishing her internship, she continued to get her certification as a lawyer in 2019.
